Book Review
Binti - Home
While of course the writing is fantastic, this is a classic case of a bridge book. There are a lot of wonderful things, especially the connection of Binti to her grandmother, most of the story leaves you wanting more at the end. Which of course, is okay, because the next book was waiting for me! Given this book was also short, I do feel all three could have been released as one book, but I am not sure what existed when the first one dropped.
But, I will definitely say, the richness of this novella is there from a culture building perspective. Getting to see what she left behind, how they treat her, what the power dynamic is and the expectations there are for her, it's all worth knowing. It all makes you care more about what is going on with her and sets up a very strong emotional connection for when you get to book three.
