This book is widely regarded, though I don’t find it to be my favorite I have read from Bradbury to date. I think part of that is it is more day in the life nature of the writing. But maybe more so that opinion is formed by the first story not being the strongest to me. But I will say, as the stories went on, they were fun to consider the nature of man, and also, see this reflection on the nature of the real martians. So it was still a fun story. It probably feels very over the top to people who read it now being so disconnected from 1950 when the book was released. I think one of the problems is, having read Fahrenheit 451 and Something Wicked This Way Comes, they are so strong, that maybe just the more fun nature of these is where it was so different than what Bradbury did in those other novels. But, if someone is looking for some old fun speculative sci-fi, I do think this scratches that itch.
