Book Review : No Country For Old Men

‍Having seen the movie, it was time to read the source material.  It is amazing how close the book is to the movie, with one major change I didn’t mind either way.  It does change the feel of the story, but I think other scenes do a good job of already explaining that part of the message.  I am being vague in case you’ve not seen either and want to not have any of that ruined.

‍But, on to the writing, this is classic McCarthy.  Chigur is such a well written antagonist and seeing how he behaves through-out as everyone is pursuing Llewelyn keeps the energy up through the whole book.  I always find McCarthy’s later work to be real page turners and this delivered.

‍Given I listened to the audio-book, I didn’t have to deal with all the missing punctuation that bothers people so much in his writing, so use that as you may for how you consume his works.  I will say this, after reading this, I do want to read more of his later material to see how it stacks up.
