Book Review : Nexus

01/03/2026

‍It’s been awhile since a really good futuristic speculative sci-fi book was recommended that I absolutely loved, but here we are.  Naam really goes all out with having us consider a drug, Nexus, that allows us to hack our own brains, connect with other brains, and just take humans to the post-human.

‍Why I like this is the book is not preachy, but, represents the voices you’d see in this sort of world.  It’s all about control or being controlled and it really makes you think.

‍The end of this book was non-stop action and intensity that I could not put down, and that has been rare for me lately.  When you find yourself being inspired by pushing the questions out there, yeah, this is what Sci-Fi is all about.

‍If I were to compare this to any other classic Sci-Fi author, I’d say Phillip K Dick, but I gotta be honest, I think Naam delivers in a way that Dick always left me wanting more of an ending.
