This was another murder mystery, but I think compared to the first one, it was better crafted. The whole concept of a Haden sport and a bunch of drama around it was fun. I also felt the whole reveal worked better. But, as always, I did want to see it be a little bit deeper. That said, Scalzi books are known for being light reading, so I can’t fault the writing for that when that is the intention.
Again, this book was gender neutral, and brings with it all that implies, not going too deep into the character. But I would definitely read another book in this series because it was so light.
