So this was a break from my Sci-Fi reading as I was beta reading what turned out to be a murder mystery, so a friend told me I needed to read Christie’s most popular novel. One thing I can say is that I am glad they changed the original novel and some of the text as it was originally printed because wow was that offensive. But, let’s get into the story. The first thing I noticed is that with so many starting characters, it is hard to keep track of them all at the beginning, but as the story goes on and the people start dropping, it gets much easier. I loved that I did notice something strange in the novel, as to what might be a clue, I let it slide as one of the characters did and liked that at the end, it was a pivotal point.
This was a good story and I can see how it is influential to all the whodunit novels since. The characters were very strong and unique in terms of in the story. Some of the head switching was a bit much in some scenes for me, but I recognize this is common style for the time. I prefer limited PoV myself.
After reading this, I would definitely consider reading more of her work just because it was fun
